Theodore B. Empson was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan and currently resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan and has been a lifetime Michigan resident. He grew up in his hometown of Richmond, Michigan where he attended high school.
He received a B.S. from Eastern Michigan University with a major in Written Communications and a minor in Public Law and Government. In 2004 he received his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law where he made the Dean's list twice. He was very active in interschool moot court competitions and a number of student organizations including the Medical-Legal Society, the Trial Advocacy Society, and Phi Alpha Delta, the largest national co-ed professional law fraternity.
Professionally, he is licensed to practice in the State of Michigan and also has been admitted to the Federal Bar for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He specializes in the area of medical malpractice litigation. Before his specialization in this area, he also practiced extensively in other areas of civil litigation as well as doing a substantial amount of criminal defense work.
